Gulf of Aden / South China Sea

GULF OF ADEN

Reports indicate, heavily armed pirates have fired upon a VLCC, in ballast, causing damage to her hull while transiting the Gulf of Aden. All vessels transiting the Gulf of Aden are advised to take additional precautionary measures and maintain a strict 24 hrs anti piracy visual and radar watch. Report all incidents including suspicious sighting to IMB Piracy Reporting Centre.

SOUTH CHINA SEA

Two vessels were boarded a few hours apart in the vicinity of LAT: 03:13N - LONG: 105:26E, off the Indonesian Island, Mangkai, in the South China Sea. Ships transiting through this area are advised to be cautious and maintain a vigilant anti piracy watch. All suspicious activities / incidents should be reported to the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre.
