London and Kuala Lumpur, 13 January 2022 - Maritime piracy and armed robbery attacks reached the lowest recorded level since 1994, the annual piracy report of the ICC International Maritime Bureau (IMB), published today, reveals.
London and Kuala Lumpur, 14 October 2021 – The ICC International Maritime Bureau (IMB) has reported the lowest number of reported piracy and armed robbery incidents for the first nine months of any year since 1994.
IMB says vigilance still needed as Indian Ocean piracy High Risk Area reduced
Shipping organisations have agreed to reduce the boundaries of the piracy High Risk Area (HRA) in the Indian Ocean, as incidents in the region, particularly in Somalia, continue to decrease.
